2024 Spring Showcase

Important Details & Information


About: 

The annual Spring Showcase features all dancers (whose families choose to participate) and all dance forms/classes that the studio offers. We are excited to showcase your hard work from the year and look forward to this culminating event. This showcase is a much more formal event in comparison to the Winter Showcase, and dancers will be expected to wear costumes selected by their teacher (theirs to keep when done) and, if applicable, have hair and make up done for both their rehearsal and the showcase performance. The shows run about 80-90 minutes with no intermission.

Backstage Volunteers Needed: 

  • We will need at least two grown ups to volunteer to help back stage with CM and PB1 students. If your dancer is in CM and PB1 and you can/would like to be a backstage grown up please let your dance teacher know. 

  • If your dancer is in PB 1/2, PB 2, PB3, PB 3/4, PB4 or Ballet 1, Ballet/Tap Combo, Tap 2-3, or Tap 4, Beg. Hip Hop, Beg. Lyrical, we will need one or two grown up volunteers

  • If you are willing to be a volunteer please email randazzodance@gmail.com ATTN: Grown Up Volunteer Spring Showcase. Volunteers do not need to purchase a ticket for themselves- seats will be reserved near the students who are watching in the audience. 

  • The grown up volunteers will remain with their designated class throughout the duration of the showcase. They will start backstage and then, when applicable, escort their class to a designated seating area. 

  • Grown up volunteers need to be present at rehearsal to learn their spots/line order/procedures.

Important Rehearsal Details & Reminders:

  • Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled rehearsal time and meet in the auditorium. Look for your teacher/group. 

  • You must be ready, in costume with hair and makeup done. Wearing old tights for the rehearsal is suggested and saving new tights for the showcase is encouraged. 

  • Your teacher needs you to be ready to go on stage at your rehearsal time. The first class to have all students ready will practice first with their teacher.

  • Your rehearsal will consist of one or two run throughs of your dance.

  • Dressing rooms/dressing areas may have signs and are to the right of the main entrance. You will learn where your dancers' group will meet before the show after your run through on stage. 

  • Note: Younger dancers will not have a dressing room, coming with tights and costume,  ready to go is recommended. We suggest parents hold their children’s belongings during the rehearsal and showcase performances.

  • Young dancers (Creative Movement, Pre Ballet 1-4, Ballet Tap Combo, Tap 2-3, Beginning Hip Hop, Beginning Lyrical and Ballet 1) will have the opportunity to watch the showcase in a designated area of the auditorium with their class and grown up volunteers. If they are in more than one piece in the same showcase they may need to remain backstage until all their dances have performed.

  • Showcase programs will be/are posted in the studio lobby, as well as available in the link provided above for viewing only. 

  • If you see an error please correct it on the posted copy in the studio lobby/or inform the front desk staff.

  • Updates may be made for name changes, order of dances, etc. So please continue to check the posted programs regularly. 


PLEASE NOTE: Students may be in more than one showcase so please make sure you get tickets for the showcase or showcases you wish to attend. We have no way of exchanging tickets as it causes many seating issues. We ask that you double and triple check before purchasing. 

Important Showcase Information & Details:

  • Please arrive AT LEAST 30 minutes before your scheduled show time. Starting the showcase on time is very important.

  • Have hair and makeup done before arrival.

  • Changing into costume upon arrival is doable but if you plan to drop your dancer off to the meeting spot and with their group please make sure you can help them change quickly.

  • Young dancers may wear their costume to and from on showcase day.

  • After dropping your dancer off with their teacher/group, grown ups can wait for the show to start. As a heads up, the hallways do get crowded.

  • Sending activities to help keep your dancer busy while the show is taking place is helpful, but please make sure names are on all belongings for easy return. 

  • Young dancers must be picked up from their grown up volunteers immediately following the show.  Please make sure to check in and out with the grown up volunteer or your dancers teacher. 

Tickets: 

  • Tickets will be available for purchase through Dance Studio Pro. If you have questions please stop in and ask the front desk staff to help you.

  • Tickets are $20 each with assigned seating. You can select your seats in Dance Studio Pro.

  • Students may be in more than one showcase, so please make sure you get tickets for the showcase or showcases you wish to attend. We have no way of exchanging tickets as it causes many seating issues. We ask that you double and triple check before purchasing. 

  • Infants and Toddlers (who sit on a lap) do not need a ticket. 

Other Information & Helpful Links

Hair/Makeup:

  • Younger students should have red lips, blush, and a little bit of eyeliner if possible- but no tears needed, honestly, just a little blush and lips is great. 

  • Hair should be pulled back and out of your dancer’s face with gel or hairspray used to flatten all the flyaway/wispy hairs.

  • Older dancers: Your instructor will talk to you about your hair options.

Theater Etiquette & Information:

  • Dancers will be escorted to the auditorium between dances to watch the performance sometime after their dance has gone on stage. This changes when dancers in multiple classes. If your dancer is in multiple dances in the same showcase they may have to wait backstage until all their dances are complete before watching from the auditorium. 

  • No eating in your costume until AFTER your final showcase.

  • No eating in the theater!

  • Please remain seated for the ENTIRE program. 

  • Your dancers can be picked up immediately following the showcase.

  • NO videotaping or photography during the showcases. 

    • This should be done during the designated dress rehearsal times or outside the theater or at the photo display area.

  • FREE VIDEO LINK! We will have a video link available after the Showcase (free of charge) for each dancer. It will be emailed to you when it becomes available.
