Studio Closed March 16, 2020 - April 5, 2020

To all Students, Parents and Teachers:

 

In keeping with recent government recommendations and mandates regarding efforts to reduce the spreading of the Coronavirus, the Studio will be closed starting Monday March 16, 2020 through Sunday April 5, 2020. The studio will remain open for classes until March 15, 2020 as we continue to implement the recommended practices to prevent the spread of the virus.

You are likely aware that the Michigan Governor has mandated that all schools close during the same period. Randazzo Dance largely follow any announced closure of the Ann Arbor Schools and our Studio Calendar is also set up to follow their Academic Calendar.

The last week of the three (3) week shutdown is the planned Spring Break for the Studio. Therefore, we plan to address the two (2) week impact as follows:

1.       The Winter semester will be extended one (1) week and will end on Saturday May 16, 2020.

2.       During the period from April 6, 2020 to May 16, 2020, students can make up one (1) week of cancelled classes by attending other classes in an equal level or lower level, in consultation with the teacher. We will also endeavor to add classes during this period where it makes sense depending upon studio and teacher availability. There will be more to come in regard to those potentially added classes.  

3.       The Spring session will be reduced from six (6) weeks to five (5) weeks and will start on Monday May 17, 2020 and will end as originally scheduled on Saturday June 20, 2020.

4.       The Spring Showcase is still scheduled for May 8 and 9, 2020, but this will be monitored closely in cooperation with Saline Middle School and will largely depend upon government mandates in place at the time of the Showcase.

September 21, 2019 at 2pm - Youth Company (all pre-ballet levels)

September 21, 2019 at 3pm - Junior Company (beginning ballet 1-ballet 3)


Students must arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled audition time.  The studio will be open if you would like to come early to fill out paperwork and/or warm-up.

This year, Randazzo Dance Company is thrilled to announce two programs:“The Nutcracker” Ballet December 21-22, 2019 and a Mixed Program March 7-8, 2020 (in collaboration with the Sole Full of Rhythm Tap Ensemble).

Dancers in ballet levels Pre-Ballet 1 and higher are eligible to audition for The Nutcracker
Dancers in ballet levels Ballet 2 and higher are eligible to audition for Both the Nutcracker and the Mixed Program

Auditions for BOTH shows will take place on:
Saturday, September 14, 2019 for Ballet 4-Advanced Ballet
AND
Saturday, September 21, 2019 for all other ballet levels at Randazzo Dance Studio.

Audition Times are as follows:
Sept. 14th 2pm Senior Company (ballet level 4 and higher) Bring Pointe Shoes
Sept. 21st 2pm Youth Company (all pre-ballet levels)
Sept. 21st 3pm Junior Company (beginning ballet 1-ballet 3)

Dancers will be accepted into one of three company divisions:
- Youth Company: All Pre-Ballet Levels
- Junior Company: Beginning Ballet Level 1-Ballet 2
- Senior Company: Ballet 4-Advanced Ballet

NUTCRACKER Member Participation Fees (due the first day of rehearsals ~beginning October):
- Youth Company $85
- Junior Company $110
- Senior Company $220

SPRING MIXED PROGRAM Member Participation Fees (will not be due until January):
- Randazzo Dance Company Senior Company Dancers $225
- Randazzo Dance Company Junior Company Dancers $110
- Sole Full of Rhythm Dancers (by invitation only) $150
- RDC JUNIOR Company Dancers also in SFOR $150

* Randazzo Dance Company dancers are required to be enrolled and participating in studio ballet classes to be cast in the nutcracker.
Ballet 2 and higher: 2 classes/week, minimum
Pre-Ballet thru Ballet 1: 1 class/week required; 2 strongly recommended to be eligible as a performer in the Randazzo Dance Company*

Nutcracker Auditions - Saturday, September 15th

Randazzo Dance Company will be holding auditions for The Nutcracker on Saturday, September 15th, 2018.

Audition Times

2:00pm Pre-Ballet Levels 1-4

3:00pm - Beginning Ballet 1 - Ballet 2/3

4:00pm - Ballet 3/4 - Advanced (Bring Pointe Shoes)

* Auditions open to 2018-2019 students in Pre-Ballet 1 and above.

* All students in Ballet Level 2 and up are required to take two ballet classes per week to be considered for casting.
